Each Friday in Eugene, Oregon, at 252 Lawrence Street, we meet with 125-300 of our homeless and lonely neighbors. We call it MANNA on Friday. This is a Refuge of safety, peace, and respectful friendship, sprinkled with a lot of hugs and prayer.
We gather food and supplies on Thursdays, accessing Food for Lane County, and purchasing the balance with financial donations. The Lord has provided all of our sources! Preparation for MANNA begins mid-day on Friday. Here is our schedule:
- 1:00 Meal Prep, Kitchen, Station, and Room Set Up
- 4:00 Sidewalk Cafe
- 4:15 Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies
- 5:00 Selah Church
- (Last Friday of every month, MANNA Servants gather at 5:30 for Koinonia and Prayer)
- 6:15 Dinner (Servants greet and talk to our guests coming through the serving line, wander through the dining area doing what needs to be done, talking and praying with our guests)
- 6:30 Clothing Room opens
- 6:45-7:15 The Storyteller - Come and Relax, and listen to “The Storyteller,” with selected readings to enhance your life!
- 7:00 Breakdown
We’re praying for others with a missionary vision for Refuge: In-Residence Home for the Addict, Alcoholic and Transitioning Parolee:
- No Fee
- Bible Based
- Long Term
- Relapse Prevention from the Genesis Process
- Living & Work Structure based on the Delancey Street example
- Non-Grant Seeking
- Donations & Contributions Accepted
