Street Ministry

Who We Are

Street Ministry is a 501-C nonprofit organization that has been serving homeless and lonely residents of the Eugene/Springfield area for 13 years.

We consist of over 30 volunteers from the church community that love the Lord Jesus and love people. We believe the Lord died for each person that walks through the doors and that they deserve to be redeemed, renewed, restored, revived, and reclaimed for the family of God.

Street Ministry is commissioned from Isaiah 58.

What We Do

Each Thursday evening we serve 125-300 of the homeless and lonely residents of our area. We call it  “MANNA” on Lawrence Street.

We offer these folks an hour or two of peace and respect, a hot meal, clothing, and Bibles. We also offer them a safe place, friendship, a listening ear, and our caring hearts. Our guests range in age from late teens to 60+ years of age. There is an approximate 20-30% that have mental health issues and almost half with drug or alcohol problems. Approximately 60% are chronically homeless with a growing number that are presently without work or housing because of the present economy.

We begin to gather food and supplies on Wednesday. We access Food for Lane County and purchase other needs.

Thursday’s preparations begin in the early afternoon with volunteers setting up the dining room, mobile kitchen, clothing room, and various other stations.

What You Can Do

The help and support of the local church community is necessary to this ministry. Your prayers are essential to all aspects of our service.
We need volunteers each week for various jobs:

We also need financial donations, kitchen supplies, and food. Street Ministry is funded mainly through private donations from local Christians. Please consider becoming one of our sponsors.
